Hi everyone it is Sophie the great!
We thought that Rachel at the Ladypug Mugs blog did two really great entries about kids being mean to Winston and Clemmie. HOW RUDE!!! So we decided to talk about that too. Since kiddies have been pretty mean to us. One time a boy threw me down after my... ahem... buxom bosom... flopped onto his arm. I've been called a cow, and gross. I can't help it! I mean, Dixie gets called retarded a lot but that's her own fault, since she is. But I'm gorgeous, and I don't know why people don't see it all the time!
However right after Mommy read us that blog, we went on a walk and met some more kiddies! There were two girls and their Mommy, and then their friends and their Mommy came over too. They held the Bugg and me a lot and petted us and one of them begged for another doggie like us to take home. I wanted Mommy to take pictures but she feels weird asking people if they are ok with it, since she posts them. But it was a good experience since they were so nice to us. We wish more kiddies had great parents that would teach them tolerance and acceptance. My nails are pretty sharp right now, so if the kiddies were mean I totally would have "accidentally" scratched them!!
Also, Ladypug Mugs and Stella had this great fun project- a list of their "other" names! Me and Dixie are going to do it too!

It's from last year's state fair... apparently this year's big thing was deep-fried bananas foster cheesecake... ick. We did not go near that stuff. We had deep-fried Reeses cups last year and they were the BEST! Plus, back in New Jersey we had deep-fried Oreos years ago! Gotta love America.
Mommy and Daddy did not win us ANY prizes at the Indiana State Fair. We are extremely mad. Look at what they COULD have won...
YES, that is a pile of pugs!!! Two of the three types are RATHER inaccurately colored (there are no DARK BROWN or BLUE pugs, peoples) but still, we would have accepted any of the three as a prize for staying home for five hours or so. They said they tried to win but it got too expensive. Mommy was really crappy with the camera and didn't take a lot of pictures, but she showed us the few she took. They included some livestock!
This is Harley, the "WORLD'S Largest Bore." I think it's pretty bore-ing too. I'm not sure how they weigh a bore, but I think a huge 1,121 pound pig that just lays around is a large bore. World's largest, I'm not sure, have you ever spent a day with Dixie? That might be the WORLD'S largest bore.
Here is a sheep in The Artist Formerly Known As Prince's clothing. WTF is up with the purple outfit!?!!? A bunch of other ones were dressed up like in sheets! Sheep in sheets!? (You can kind of see some behind these two.) I really don't get this State Fair business.
Well, that's not 100% true. I do get going to the fair for the FOOD!!! Look at these offerings!!! Deep fried cookie dough, Snickers, Reeses... Mom and Dad said they also had deep fried Pepsi, brownies, Twinkies... the works. The humans did not have any which is crap. They ate some roasted corn on the cob though, which is acceptable. I would have appreciated some PICTURES, MOM!!!! Thanks a bunch for a whole lotta nuthin'!
Hi pugs, terrierists, and other canines,
Today our aunt Pammy-Pam came over for dah lunch!
We did not get to eat ANY of the lunch (okay we got a little but a very unfair amount, thank Dogness that aunt Pammy-Pam was there to make sure we didn't STARVE!) She totally loves me and is obsessed with me. However she did have to give fair and equal time to the Bugg.
Bugg has her tongue nose-guard up again, ugh, what a sillybugg!!!! Aunt Pammy-Pam was really nice to the Bugg too so I am sure she was fulfilling some sort of charity service hours or something. I mean, LOOK what she did:
(She didn't really drink it, don't worry!!!!)
We were really tired after so we plopped down with Mommy. They are at the State Fair now. We hope they bring some prizes home from the games for us!!!
To summarize today: Aunt Pammy-Pam is great because she reads our blog and gives us food, our humans stink because they do NOT give us food, and we like to sleep.
I have to do a product plug!!! Annie at 4weebeasties has once again hooked us up! The first shipment she sent us had two great Pal Dog products, the Soothing Balm and Shampoo & Massage Bath. Then she sent us two great OTHER products, Freshen Up Sprays! There is a regular one, "Daily Formula," and a bug-protection one, "Outdoor Formula."
The Soothing Balm was great when Sophie got a little too rough and and gave Dixie a tiny rough scratch, like rug burn. It soothed the redness and smelled great, and definitely moisturized her skin. I may or may not have tried tried a little on my elbows!!! Plus it's safe if licked which is great.
The Shampoo & Massage Bath was WAY better than our old Wal*Mart shampoo for them. It lathered much more, and smelled amazing. It also seemed to be less of a drag for them, since I bet it made their skin less irritated due to the natural ingredients. Two thumbs up!
The Freshen Up Sprays are my new OBSESSION!!! The girls get a little stinky, so this is definitely helping between showers. I think the best part is that the bug protection in the "Outdoor Formula," but that it still has natural ingredients, like Aloe Vera and essential oils. And I wish we had smell-o-vision so you could see for yourself how GREAT these sprays smell!
Don't worry, I'm not really spraying them in these pics! I posed them like I was going to spray them, and these two photos came out with those HILARIOUS looks, as if I was spraying them in the eyes! My girls never cease to crack me up with their photography skills! Please check out the Pal Dog products here on the 4weebeasties website!

We are going to have to go to confession because we accidentally gave Bugg a bikini wax! Good thing she is so forgiving... plus we have our Pal Dog Soothing Balm to keep her happy!
Apparently, today is NOMS day! (Not Of My Species)
We do not have any NOMS in our house. If you don't count Dixie. She's an alien but apparently I am supposed to be nice to her because she says aliens don't get cancer. Oh well. ANYWAYZZZ Mommy has had other NOMS in her life and just told us about them!
This was Freckles. Mommy got him in 1st grade and he died right before she started her junior year of college. She was extremely upset, as he was the best NOMS animal ever. Her sister also had a cat, Panther, who was black and weighed forty pounds. Guinness Book said he was just shy of the record. Mommy doesn't have any pictures of him though... he probably wouldn't fit in the frame!!!
Also if you like NOMS of the cat variety, this article is great! Mommy showed it to us and we think we appreciate NOMS a lot more. It talks about five really cool cats. Anyone else have a NOMS that is an alien, like I do???

Two funny comments were made about the pugs this weekend. At the pug festival Saturday, a little boy said "That pug looks like a cow!!!!" He was referring, of course, to Sophie's sagging mammaries. Poor girl! Then, my sister, "Aunt Melinda," wrote on my Facebook wall about Dixie's surgery, "I hope Dixie got a breast lift and can finally turn left as a result of the surgery." I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but she also has sagging mammaries and due to puppy mill anxiety only turns one direction when running in circles. Oh how I love them. And my sister!
This is Dixie's new smile as a result of the TWO teeth extractions from her surgery. What a cutie pie!!! We just got back from the Radiohead concert... so, we're tired- goodnight!!
Yesterday we went to the Indy 500 Festival of Pugs in Indiana. It was pawesomeeee! Mom and Dad were really excited to take me and Dixie. Although Daddy let Dixie drive. She's on medication... she probably shouldn't be allowed to operate heavy machinery.
We entered in the costume contest. We went as the "Pugliest Catch" fisherpugs. Right before we went on, Mommy found a crab toy at one of the booths at the festival, which really added to our look.
Guess what- WE WON!!!!!
Well. Okay. We were the only ones in the GROUP costume catagory. So we had to win. Here is the picture of the winner of the single-entry costume category.
He sat down on the red carpet... he was not happy at all we think. He probably wished he was a cool fisherpug like us.
Then Mommy saw some of her favorite puglebrities (Pug-Celebrities, duh!) First she ran into Pixie. She saw Pixie before at the last pug event!
I was super jealous, Mommy was giving her all the attention! Bugg was playing with Pixie's two brother Buggs (yes, there are more BUGGS like dah Bugg) so I just kind of sat there and looked cute. Then Mommy ran over to the adoptable pug area because she heard that BUSTER was there!!!!
Buster is blind still but now in amazing spirits and much healthier than the last time she wrote about him. He's a chunker and was hard to take a picture of. Mommy says he was super sweet though. She really hopes someone special will adopt him.
We had such a good time and can't wait till the next event. There is one coming up in the fall in Kentucky and Mommy and Daddy might make a weekend of it in Louisville... that would be PAWESOMEEEEEE!!!! I hope you all have fun plans for stuff like we do through KPR!
