Joan of Arc

Hey guys! It's Sophie. Mom wants to write a bit too first so we will let her write in italics. She already wrote today... ugh! She is soooo frustrating!

Hi everyone, Kelly here. I saw something today that just turned my dog-world upside-down. I will warn you now: THESE PHOTOS ARE VERY HARD TO LOOK AT. They are of Joanie ("Joan of Arc") who was found along a highway in Texas, starved and literally hanging onto her life. She weighed about 3 and a half pounds when they rescued her. She is luckily doing better, but seeing stories like this and looking into beautiful Joanie's eyes makes me question some humans and how someone could just look at her and let it happen, especially with so many great rescue organizations available nation- and world-wide. The link to the rescue page is here, with All Texas Dachshund Rescue. Doxies are my favorite breed of dog after pugs, my neighbors growing up had one and I was in love. It absolutely broke my heart to see this, and I hope some of you readers will share this story with your friends and donate here if you can.

Ok Sophie, you can go now!

Geez, finally Mom!

Ok so when Mom showed us pictures of Joanie we wanted to have her be our friend and visit us. Mom said she can't and that made us sad. It also made us sad how much food we get and all our treatables we eat, when she didn't get any. Luckily she is getting some now. If we could have given her some to make her better we would have! Dixie felt really bad since she has been packin' on the pounds this winter. We vowed to be more healthy with our treat-intake and share with other doggies who need it. We know Joanie would do the same for us. Thanks for helping her if you can!

Some people really stink and are absolutely cruel. Our mom wanted to go get her and take her home. We are always reflecting on how lucky we are. Life is not fair for dogs that have to endure treatment like this. We want to go bite the old owner.

Sophie and Kelly, honey....that makes me madder than a wet hen. I'd love to kick the ass of whoever let her get like that, I tell ya what. Thank the good Lord for the person who got her to safety.

(Note from mom: Hank has gone out to the garage and turned on the electric saw so no one can hear him cry.)

OMG! That is so awful! I don't understand how anyone could let that happen! I'm definately going to be more appreciative for everything I have.

We stopped by the Comedy Sportz tent, but guess we missed you too! There seemed to be hundreds of pugs on the track, so it was hard to tell which were ones from the blogosphere!

I can't look at the photos. I know my heart will break and I can't take it. I can't look!
