Puggies of July

This weekend was SUPER busy, it seemed like the 5th was more busy than the 4th! (Which I found out was what the FORK of July really is, the FOURTH!) Check me out in my crown...

At our puggie meetup yesterday, I got to eat pupcakes and wear my birthday hat because it was my belated barkday pawty!!!! Mommy didn't make a cake though because she was soooo tired... Dixie- NOT ME- kept her and Daddy up barking once for every firework. Mommy was not happy about that! But I still love them... look at this picture of us... how cute are my humans?!?!

They were so nice celebrating my 5th Barkday in the park with all my gal and guy friends. There was a baby Frenchie/Pug mix and I am mad Mommy didn't take a picture of him! He was great. I was kind of poopy and the humans think it is because I am a little more scared since I got attacked. I was still nice to see Salinger though, since he is my boyfriend. I'll ignore the fact that he makes out with Pugsley in front of me... since he is super cute!

Boyfriend Salinger even gave me a pupcake.... it was very nice of him. He let Mommy take home some pupcakes... we REALLY wanted to eat them all there.

She put them in a birthday hat which I thought was funny! OH YEAH! I almost forgot. There was another Sophie at the meetup this month!

Here is Salinger's Mommy holding the impostor Sophie and I am in Mommy's arms. Other Sophie ALSO wore a patriotic bandana. I look less than impressed with this carbon-copy Sophie. She was nice and happy and running around which is why she has her tongue out... I was poopy and barked at dogs that were fighting so I look like as Mommy says a "con-stir-patid" grump.

Thanks again for all the belated barkday wishes! I hope all of you had great Holiday weekends and LOTS of table scraps!

Happy Fork of July!

Hi it's Sophie and Mommy just told us it's the Fork of July. Or something like that. We hope that means food for us. Sooo anyways, there's lots of red, white, and blue! Mommy made us these pretty bandanas. She saw all the pretty pictures of puggies holding Canadian flags for Canada day, and American flags for this Fork holiday. I refused to emulate these empty-heads, but look at the Bugg...

Yeah, it's pathetic.  I tried to tell her, "back away from the flag!" She didn't listen so forceable action had to be taken.

What an idiot.

Then Mommy said the Fork of July was not a day to be mean to the Bugg. So, I gave her a.... hug. Sort of.

MY LIFE HAS CHANGED FOREVER!!!

Sorry to post twice within an hour... but as I hit publish and got the confirmation page, there was a little tidbit from blogger about "something something GOOGLE READER." And I clicked on it, and took the Google Reader tour... holy cow. MY LIFE IS CHANGED FOREVER!

I don't know if anyone else is/was doing this... but I went through twice a day (at least) and clicked on every single blog link that is on my list here on Pug & Bugg's site, and checked to see if they updated. I'm not even kidding. I'm saving myself HOURS. As much as I liked visiting your blogs daily... it got a little bothersome and time consuming. As the Google Reader video described, you don't e-mail all of your friends daily to find out if they sent you an e-mail... it comes to you.

Wow. Life changing. Thank you, Google.

Sophie is movin' on up...

Hi everyone it’s the Mommy! Well I have news to report… we’ve caved in! Sophie is now (on a trial basis) sleeping in the human bed with us! I never thought it would even be an option, but with the thunder and fireworks, it seems like we haven’t gotten a full night of sleep without her scratching and/or crying. We didn’t want her to hurt her paw again, and so far, so good. The most hilarious part of it is the Bugg. We put the crate in our room and Dixie just sleeps in there, all stretched out, like “I haz mah own room!” I don’t have a recent picture of Soph in our bed…

…but you get the idea! She just sports a new collar now.

Also, I discovered this website, Dog Treat Recipe Exchange, and wanted to share. It has some great recipes, but also importantly, is their list of foods dogs should avoid. I think it is important for everyone to take a look at this- better safe than sorry!!!! Keep that healthy, safe wallymelon coming!

SNPM Challenge 6 Results

Hey everydoggie, it's Sophie again. So we received all the SNPM Lol-dog photos and they were GREAT! We decided they all deserve to be winners this week, because they were all so so so super funny! You put me to shame with your funniness! So, we tabulated the scores with Mommy's help all along, and just now picked the top four scorers to be the finalists. As it turns out, the top four scorers all contributed to this challenge (and to almost ALL of the challenges in general!) so we are announcing them in alpha-order here! Congratulations to our four finalists...

Pugs of Leisure

Hi everydog it is SOPHIE! Thank goodness Mommy is back. Well, we had fun while she was gone because Daddy let us be "pugs of leisure" and we lounged and lounged and lounged. No hostages necessary.

Mommy went a little C-R-A-Z-Y at her work thing- she worked a LOT! Like double normal. So she got to take today off and get her nails done and something called a muh-soge and she was gone for a while, but Daddy said she deserved it. We made her this card:

And I wrote: "Dear Mommy: We missed you so much! (wrunt wrunt!) Daddy says you are the bestest, and I think you are the bestest-estest! Love + Snorts, Sophie."

Dixie wrote: "Momy: I iz luv yoo? I tink you iz gweat! Bugg wantz da momy hom now! Sowwy for baadd writing. Dixie."

So I'm sure you all want to know about the birthday mauling, right? It was HORRIBLE. Our new neighors have a dog so we were like, yay! New friends! But she hasn't even moved in all the way. Then on Sunday night really late she was blaring her music and Mommy got very mad and went over there, and then it stopped. On my birthday, Daddy was walking me, and she had some not-so-nice looking people on her porch, who were talking mean about us. We were 3 houses away but we could already hear them on our walk back. They were saying stuff like that we would be treatables for their dog. So even though they were all sitting and their screen door was closed, SOMEHOW the door got open right when we were walking to our steps. It came up and grabbed onto my neck and wouldn't let go! I was crying and crying and sad. Daddy was so brave, he punched and kicked it, but it wouldn't let go still. Finally someone came over and it let go of me and Daddy took me inside and I was shaking and shaking. He checked me out but I was okay, so then I got some treats and then Daddy went outside. He told that lady what was up and he was loud and very scary, which was good because the dog was very scary and needs to stay on the inside and not the outside like us nice dogs. Mommy found out and was so mad, she says that since she is from New Jersey (we don't know what that is) the neighbor should be happy she wasn't there, and that she will give the lady a piece of her mind if she ever messes with us again.

Luckily, we have some GOOD neighbors! Mommy talked to them today and their humans said the dog was very aggressive with them too. Usually Gus and Rudy (they are Shih Tzus) can hang out in their yard with no problems. But the dog was super mean to them. So before the lady got home with the mean dog, we got to hang out in the yard with Gus and Rudy! We were of course a little nervous outside still so we got a little tangled.

Gus got a new shirt, it says "Bitch Magnet!" Mommy calls the neighbor lady that is mean that b-word, but I think it means two different things.

This is the whole group! Rudy, Gus, me, and Dixie. We are so super cute.

We are counting our little doggie blessings that we have a good Mommy and Daddy and some nice neighbors. Thanks for your birthday wishes and kind thoughts about my attack. I couldn't have made it without knowing that you are all there for me! Thanks bloggy dog friends! Don't forget the last SNPM contest!

Mommy's Back!

Hi everyone! I am back and EXHAUSTED! I am going with Brian's mom and sister to get pedicures and massages soon, but I had to do a quick post.

Brian sent me these photos during my time in Cali, and it kept me going all week! It was like 100+ degrees everyday, I couldn't help but think that the pugs would perish in that weather! Look at these cuties....

I was sad that I missed Sophie's birthday! Guess what she got for her birthday... MAULED! Yes the dog next door attacked her, it held on and wouldn't let go. I will let her tell you more about it when she blogs later. And don't worry, she's fine.

Jet-Setting Momma!

I am off quite early tomorrow for my work trip and will not return until SUPER LATE Sunday night! Since the pugs refuse to blog without me, don't expect an entry until next Monday night... (especially since Monday afternoon I'm getting a massage!) don't forget about us please!! Also, Sophie's birthday is the 27th... don't forget her, either!
