Harles' First Holliday Park Trip!

What a great day! I was working at my second job in the morning. While at home, the pugs spent their morning doing this:

After last night's storms, today was amazingly gorgeous! Brian and I decided to take the pugs to Holliday Park. Harley had never been there before! It is a gorgeous park but also has nature trails for hiking down to the White River.

I thought Harley would have a tough time, but he led the march the whole time we hiked!

When we got to the river, Dixie was quite interested.

We had multiple, multiple poo's and pee-mails on our trip.

The roots down by the river are like an obstacle course for pugs!

Harley and Dixie were brave enough to walk in the shallow part of the water. Sophie... not so much.

We visited the cool water-ball again, and this time I showed it to Harles!

We stopped for some water breaks and on the second one, they were ready to really take a break. Sophie is looking for the transportation back to the car.

Dixie scooted into the shade and against the wall almost immediately. She yawned and chewed some grass.

And then she made the most adorable face ever!

Brian gave Sophie some kisses because she was such a trooper today.

Look at that tongue!

On the way home Bugg resumed her normal spot on the floor near the AC vent.

Sophie used her massive tongue to slobber ALL OVER me on the ride home!

We had a great time introducing Harley to the park! What did everyone else do this weekend?

Scary Scary Storms!

Tonight there were scary scary storms. Dixie, Harley and I (aka SOPHIE) were home with Dad, since Mom was working all night. Luckily he gave us lots of cuddle time.

We were all very brave and watched the news for information about the tornadoes, hail, and thunder.

We are lucky to have a Dad that is so respectful of a pug's needs!

He took a video for you guys trying to show the crazy rain. It was soooo scary!!!!

He also took a video of all of us. Personally I think I look adorable, even with all the storms going on!

Random Thursday...

Hi everyone, it's Sophie Sophie. Mom sure did a fine job writing about the 500, but what do we get to write about? Nada. What did we even DO this weekend!?!?!?! NADA!!!! And now it's flippin' THURSDAY and we finally get to post. Sorry if it is boring!

Here is Dixie doing a really awkward face. Stupid BUGG!

Here is me and Harles and Mom giving Harley bunny ears! Get it, he looks like a bunny!?!? I didn't want to post this one though because it's a bad angle for my wrinkles...

Seriously, tell me dah Bugg isn't FAT?!

Oh sorry Clover but I totally got caught schnuggglin' with Harles... I was givin' him licks since I felt bad for him getting bunny ears.

Whoa how did that picture get on here?!?!?!?!?!

Oh yea and here is a video expressing our feelings about cows.

SOPHIE + 8?

Now, I already posted earlier about our weekend, and the pugs will be posting later. I had to interject about something on my mind lately- Jon & Kate + 8! I have so many thoughts about that crazy show. Many of which revolve around Kate's "reverse mullet."

So I think, Sophie has had a few litters, is spoiled and materialistic, and kind of a b!tch...

How does it look on her?

Wonderful Weekend!

So, remember last year when Brian and I went to that great party, the Hog Roast, the day before the Indy 500? And my sister Melinda and her friend Connie came? If you need a refresher, click here and here

Anywho, my sister called me on Friday and said, what are you doing tomorrow? She and Connie just graduated from Fordham University in NY, and Connie's boyfriend came to NY to drive her huge U-Haul of stuff back to Chicago, where they're from. They convinced Melinda to go with them for the ride, and so they thought they might stop in Indy. Little did they know that they had picked the weekend of the Hog Roast and Indy 500!

We went to Target before the party on Saturday and got super cool accessories... what do you think? Here's Connie, me, and Melinda.

Here is Harles with Connie and her boyfriend, Dan. Connie was "so excited to have pugs all over me!" Her words, not mine!

The party was a blast! Then EARLY the next day we went to the Indy 500! Brian has been before but none of us had. This is pretty much the most typical thing you'll find there, in the infield where we were. He still has a handle on his beer!

Here I am with Brian! We had a great time with all of our friends!

The pugs had a much less interesting weekend. They will be sharing with you later, when Blogger finally allows them to upload a hilarious video.

IMPORTANT LAST CALL!

Only one person wants to play Pay It Forward with us! Does anyone else want to? I promise I won't send poop or anything (unless you want me to???) Just comment on this one that you want to play!

Pay It Forward!

Hi everyone, Kelly here and I apologize for Sophie's RUDE attitude in her previous post! We definitely don't think she is fat! Just... melty! Dixie, on the other hand... HAHA!

Anyways, let me tell you about the cool package we got from Punchy at Pug Possessed! She is one of our FAVORITE blogs to read and a really nice person. We were so lucky to recently be the recipient of a "Pay it Forward" package from her!

Here are Sophie and Harles posing with the goods! Punchy made that AWESOME pug artwork! It is going up in the pug's room to keep them company. There are also some wonderful puppy potholders, a beautiful butterfly charm to hang, and a lovely pug card.

She also sent a candle that we loved so much we lit it right away! (Thus, not with the pugs since they didn't need a good waxing right now!)

Doesn't Sophie bear a beautiful resemblence? I can't believe that Punchy painted this pug! It's magnificent!

Now it's my turn to play Pay it Forward! Here is the 411:

"The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way. This is how it works...I am going to send something to the first 3 blog owners who wants to take part. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to me, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness does not have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around."

So, the first three comments to want to participate will get to Pay it Foward with us! Remember I work a random job and "neglect the pugs" (their words, not mine) so it will probably take a little while to get it to you, but I promise I am excited to share some of my talents and creativity with you guys!!! Can't wait to see who the three are! Thanks again, Punchy! We appreciate your kindness!

SOMEONE CALL THE ASPCA ON THESE PEOPLE!

Hi guys it is Sophie. So Mommy was making fun of my flab the other day and I was NOT PLEASED since, let's be honest, Dixie Bugg is the one who needs a diet. LOOK!

Dixie one year ago, at a VET-APPROVED, HEALTHY WEIGHT:

Bugg now:

Look at that portly pup! I am sticking out my tongue at her in disgust.

Anywho, I am sure you can imagine my shock when Mom pointed out this:

What, you don't see anything either? Mom was pointing out how my skin seemed to "melt" around me when I was relaxing on her lap. Psh she is one to talk. Look what she put me through!

Yep that's right she is pinching my pudge! Or, lack there of! I can't help that I had babies and babies and babies because of the mean Amish people at the puppy mill, and now have lots of excess skin in many areas of my body! I am NOT fat like the Bugg! I am the skinniest little baby girl in this whole family! SHEESH!

To offset my anger, I've included some lovely photos of us being neglected, which is pretty much standard nowadays. Check out Bugg's ugly tongue! BOL!

Mom is so boring I fall asleep while she's talking to me! DOUBLE BOL!!!!!

Look at us, poor neglected pups. Someone should call the ASPCA on our pawrents. Neglectful and verbally abusive. Me, fat... pish posh!!!

We got a SUPER COOL package by the way but I'm being extremely kind and letting Mom blog about it later.

Quick Book Review!

Vikki, my friend and mother of the Pug Posse lent me a great book that I just finished reading, called Walking in Circles Before Lying Down. Don't worry it's not a horrible old-yeller type dog book- it's actually funny and positive. It's a good quick read and very uplifting and entertaining.

Hopefully some of you will buy or borrow this book and let me know what you think! I felt that Merrill Markoe did a great job. The book is about a dog owner who suddenly hears dogs talk. I thought it might be kind of lame- like something I'd come up with- but Markoe went above and beyond in the humor department and really made you think. It was as if the dogs helped her write the book!

Merrill Markoe has a lot of other books out and I am planning on picking up another one- let me know if you have read any! I promise the pugs will be posting soon, by the way!

My Mother's Day

What a mother's day I had! I worked a double where I made about $50 (boo) and didn't get home until past 11:00pm. What did I find when I arrived? A spotless house, a smiling fiance, and a card from the furkids! Sophie went out to buy it, of course. She somehow knew that giraffes are one of my FAVORITE animals!

Isn't this sweet?

From Sophie:

"You are the best Mommy ever! You love and care for us way better than Amish people : ) Love you tons!! Sophie Sophie (Of course she was referencing their earlier lives in an Amish puppy mill.)

From Dixie:

Luv u mommee -Dixey

From Harles:

Dear Mother, You have treated me with the utmost care and respect since I've settled into this marvelous household. I commend you and would like to convey my thanks. Much gratitude -Sir Harles

I feel so loved!
