Photoshoot Part One!

Here is the preliminary post of the pugs' photo shoot- aka our engagement pictures. Since Sophie decided to promise that I'd post tonight... I'll start with the top 7 of each pug!

Sophie

Dixie

Harley

Soon (hopefully tomorrow, but I doubt it since I work too too much) I will post some of the GREAT group pictures! All pictures were taken by Erin of Erin Hession Photography... thanks Erin!

Our Tropical Hotel Visit

Hai it's Sophie here. Mommy and Daddy went to some STOOOOPID wedding. Which is interesting since I have heard weddings only take a few hours... then why I ask were we sent to our hotel for two nights?!?

I think something's fishy here. But I'm ok with it since Sandy at our hotel treats us way right. She redid our cabin to fit our more tropical taste. Here is the outside:

And here's the inside, just how I told her to re-decorate it! Much more relaxing. Our bed was a pool with bedding in it... where we rest at the base of the palm tree. If Mom and Dad knew what was good for them they should have joined... it rained up in Michigan but it was sunny in our room!

When we're there we have our own front porch.

Sandy also knows our team allegiances and so she made sure we got the cabin with the COLTS sign, NOT the Purdue sign. Purdue... ick. BOILER DOWN. We are INDIANA fans here.

Sandy also opened her indoor play area! It will be pawfect in the winter or when it rains. There are dogs painted on the walls too which reminds me that I too can be famous.

Mom is going to post some pictures from our pawparazzi photoshoot later. Unfortunately she has a wedding blog to post to too, which means you'll have to wait a few hours. But don't worry- they're coming. The pictures are on facebook, and the comments show that we are way better looking than either of our pawrents.

Bitey-Face and Bye Bye for the Weekend!

Nicole at the Brown Dog Blog (she has THE cutest pits, and I am in love with Addy) posted the greatest bitey-face pictures ever today. When the girls were doing this after work today, I had to video it and share as well:

Harles was munching on a stuffie, enjoying the show!

Hope you all have a great weekend- us "pawrents" are heading to Michigan for a wedding, so the pugs will be staying at their plush doggie hotel.

I just got the CD with our engagement pictures on them, so expect some entries with HILARIOUS pug photos. Erin, our photographer, has them all online on a printing site so I have seen them all (small) already- and there are some amazing pug shots! Ok, mostly just hilarious Bugg shots. Don't worry, you'll see them all soon!

Pray for my BFF!

Sophie here. I've stopped focusing on my impending old-maid-dom because I just found out my BFF Pearlie Poo is having emergency surgery!

She couldn't pee pee and they found STONES in her bladder?! I bet that stupid Bugg told her to eat stones. Anyways she is having surgery to remove them right now. They were blockin' her pee-er and so she was not able to go! Her Momma is too upset to blog. Please visit her blog and leave good wishes and say prayers... she was JUST getting better from her skin itchies and now this? I might have to hitchhike to Oklahoma.... (Mom is you are reading this I am totally joking.)

Go visit Pearl!

Always a Bridesmaid...

Poor Sophie...

Everyone in her life is spoken for...

Is she destined to be always a bridesmaid and never a bride?

6 is kind of old in doggie years.... let's hope she doesn't turn into an Old Maid!

Horribly Sad

This is one of the saddest things I've ever had to post about.

A lot of times, a pug (or other dog, or animal) is found after abuse and is taken into rescue. I beg you all to donate, and we follow that dog's story. Sometimes the ending is happy, sometimes it's not, but the dog is always loved at the end. This story is not like that.

This Boston Terrier, Bandit, was found mutilated and murdered on the grounds of Rex Putnam High School, in Milwaukie, Oregon. Bandit had been stolen from his family’s yard, stabbed, skinned and hung on a tree. Can you imagine the pain this poor family is going through? Not able to hold Bandit, show him they loved him?

The news story is here. Please forward to anyone you know in Oregon.

Lili from Doggie Drawings has a lot more information here about Bandit's story and the memorial. This is the drawing she did of him:

This made me really just want to hold my puggies, especially little Dixie Bugg (half Boston.) So I leave you with some cute Bugg photos to hopefully turn our frowns upside down. Please link this story so others know about Bandit- hopefully we can bring his killer(s) to justice.

Tervis Tumblers

We've had kind of a... crazy weekend here at Pugs & Bugg's. I have lot of updating to make the pugs do this week, including a State Fair recap, info about their visit with Uncle Steve, GREAT notecards that we won, and a hilarious lazer pointer video. But in the meantime... check out this tumbler!

Growing up in New Jersey, my grandma owned a house in Spring Lake where we spent our summers. (ps... just read in the wikipedia article I linked here which says that Spring Lake has the "highest percentage of Irish Americans of any municipality in the United States." That really explains the TWO BILLION freckled red-heads I hung out with every summer. And also explains why I have a freckle obsession/jealousy issues.) I digress...

My grandma had these fab short glasses that were sort of double-layered like you see above, and had balloons embroidered illustrations on the inside. I used those every year for most of my life. I happened upon identical-style glasses (sans balloons) in a gift store one day, and found out they are called Tervis Tumblers. And- MANY styles are available... including this pug design.

I severely try to limit my pug paraphinalia, lest I become worse than a "crazy cat lady", but I still think these are adorable! A set of 2 or 4 would make a great gift. Plus- they have something for everyone- sports teams, regional icons, even monograms! Check them out!

A Day in the Life...

I originally wanted to take this video so you could hear Harles' normal breathing aka "growling" noise, which Stacy wrote about. But then the girls had to take a turn... enjoy.

Please ignore my horrendous narration.

Free Puggies

What a crazy few days... work all day Friday, Sunday, and today- and on Saturday I got my wedding dress! So this is long overdue. Dixie didn't win the contest but we'll let her tell you about it later. Also, something new has gone on- the pugs are allowed FREE REIGN of the house now! And since we've been doing that- NO ACCIDENTS! Salinger's mom convinced us when she said how well behaved they were at her house. So far, so good!

While I was working tonight, Brian took a TON of great hang-out pictures with the pugs! ENJOY!
