Oliver's Tick Story

Our good friends Tinkerbell, Oscar, and Tucker posted about ICKY TICKS today. (PS- if you haven't visited them, you should!) This reminded me (Kelly) of a hilarious story about my first pug, Oliver, that I wanted to share with you all. I will interject the story with some of my favorite pictures of him.

In case you don't know- Oliver aka Oli was my first pug. I got him my senior year in high school, and he belonged to me, my parents, and my two sisters. Oli lived only four short years, and died tragically of liver failure (KEEP SUGAR FREE GUM AWAY FROM YOUR DOGS!) But, that is a different story.

The tick story with Oliver is this. My sister Melinda had her good friend Andy over at our house. Andy was in church choir with us so I am also friends with him too. We were all hanging out when he noticed that Oli had a tick on his stomach. Melinda was grossed out so Andy was trying to get it out while I went to go get tweezers.

Like always, I got distracted along the way, but eventually came back to remove the tick. Andy stopped trying and I took the tweezers to go at it... when I noticed something. I said, "Andy, that's not a tick- it's his nipple!!!!!!"

Andy had unknowingly been fondling Oli's nipple for about 20 minutes! When I let go of him, Oli jumped right into Andy's lap, and we joked he was gay ever since.

I hope you enjoyed this story of my wonderful Oli, and some of my favorite pictures of him!!!! Now go visit Tinkerbell, Tucker, and Oscar's link to find out what you should REALLY do if you find a tick on your dog!

I love the first pic of human IN THE BATH giving Oli a bath. Hilarious story too, as the saying goes 'pugs are natural comedians' :D

That is a very funny story about Oliver. Love the bath photo. I think Oliver and I would have been buds, avoiding the baths as best we could.

Thank god that it wasn't a tick. Those things are horrible!

Loved the pics of Oli. Since I go hiking about three times a week, I'm on Revolution as my monthly preventative. And I have this doggy Citronella (sp) spray called Repel that Mommy puts on me just before we go out. If I do get any ticks, they just land on me but don't attach. At the end of the hike Mommy just picks them up and Daddy burns them.

OMG that's too funny!

Mom has a nipple story about me too. Right after I got spayed mom counted my nipples, and there were 9. She thought I should have an even number like people, so she got all mad and thought the vet accidentally clipped one off when they sewed me up.

Silly person didn't realize doggie nipples are staggered so puppies don't have to lie on top of each other and odd numbers are perfectly normal. Though it does make it harder to find bikinis that fit.

Hahahahahahaha! That's the funniest story every! Our dad has a similar story with his english bulldog JR, that our family had years ago. His nickname was "stupid, gay, dumb, deaf dog".

Thanks for the laugh!
