Oops I Ate It!

Hey it's Sophie and another Diva, Miss Pumpkin, gave me us an award! Check it out:

When accepting this award, you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans were not watching…If you have never stolen any food, you must be a really good pup!! You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward! Next add the logo of this award to your Blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving a message on their Blogs…

So Dixie and Harley are pretty well behaved or pretty dumb depending who you ask, since they haven't snuck any human foodables before that Mommy or I can remember. Actually, now that I think about it, Mommy and Daddy are TOO good about keeping us away from the food! The only thing I tend to steal is gum. Sometimes Daddy will take his chewed gum out and leave it on a plate and I just hone right in on that I tell ya!!! Then they know I did though because I am just smacking my jaw enjoying it and they always, always notice and take it away from me.

The pug Oliver who came before us apparently used to steal foodables all the time. He was taught to sit on chairs (lucky!!) and so he would climb on the table like Roxy and eat things he shouldn't, like chocolate chip muffins! Once he took a whole coffee cake out of it's box AND sealed bag and ate it before any humans could even see it! He also ate the cleaning lady's lunch whenever she left her purse on the ground, BOL! Momma's Momma found stuff in his crate a lot too, like a red jawbreaker once, and fairly often- coconut macaroons! They were confused since apparently they never bought coconut macaroons? BOL BOL! I swear I wish I could've met this guy! What a character!

So it seems a lot of our friends have gotten this award so we tag anyone who hasn't gotten it yet!

Sophie-
Glad to hear you guys are more bell-behaved than Oliver! Since your humans are so good about keeping foodables away from you, tell you daddy to watch his gum! My mom has read that xylitol (the sweetner used in sugar-free gum) is very poisonous to doggies! Good thing they have could you and pried it out of you mouth before you could swallow!! Did you get a chance to at least blow a bubble first??

Sophie's mom here- sorry, I should've mentioned that the vet said chewing over-chewed gum is not vet-worthy dangerous since all the sweetness is gone- just actual GUM base left. My pug Oliver actually died at age 4 from consuming gum because of the xylitol, which I posted about forever ago so of course you wouldn't know that! So we are very careful about packs of gum around the puggies! Thanks for putting it out there- I know that I didn't know about xylitol until a few years ago and hope that EVERY dog owner knows- it can save a doggie's life!

Gosh, sorry to hear that you know of xylitol due to a bad first-hand experience! Good to know that the gum base isn't a problem, though! Maybe we can blow some bubbles after all....
Have a great day!

Thanks for the gum advice as we always like to pick some up while we walk but since its already chewed I guess were safe but mom makes us spit it out anyway. We love the story about the macaroons we couldn't stop laughing. BOL.

Hey Sophie! Congrats on your award. I can't believe that you steal your dad's gum. How silly is that?

Does poop count as a stolen foodable?

Thanks for playing the game!

Sophie,
I have nabbed chewing gum on my walk a few times, and that no-fun-momma always catches me with it!!! What is it with our humans?!?

I used to have a brother (yellow lab) named Uno that once ate an entire bag of jelly bellies from easter.. unopened. Then he hid the evidence underneath MY bed!! They didn't find out until he started pooping rainbow colors and had to search everywhere for that wrapper. It was really funny.
